- **Gruendung**: 1987, Koeln, Deutschland - **Gruender**: Julian Eggebrecht und vier weitere ehemalige Rainbow-Arts-Mitarbeiter (der Name "Factor 5" kommt von den fuenf Gruendern) - **Wichtigste Amiga-Spiele**: Katakis (1988), Turrican (1990, Amiga-Port), Turrican II: The Final Fight (1991), Turrican 3 (1993), R-Type (Amiga-Port), BC Kid - **Hintergrund**: Entstanden aus der Hacker- und Demo-Szene. Begannen als Teilzeit-Entwickler waehrend des Studiums unter Partnerschaft mit Rainbow Arts. - **Katakis**: Beeindruckender R-Type-Klon, der Activision dazu brachte, Factor 5 die offizielle Amiga-Portierung von R-Type zu uebertragen. - **Turrican**: Manfred Trenz (C64-Version) designte das Spiel, Factor 5 portierte auf Amiga/Atari ST. Wurde zum Mega-Hit in Europa. - **Schicksal**: Zogen in die USA, entwickelten Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (N64/GameCube). Studio schloss 2009. Julian Eggebrecht erwarb 2017 die Turrican-Rechte zurueck und kuendigte die Rueckkehr von Factor 5 an. Trat 2019 Epic Games bei.
